A little while ago, I purchased a Leica 50mm Summilux ASPH lens to pair it with my Leica M3 35mm film camera. I love shooting black and white film using that combo because of the classic visual feel to it. Perhaps I've been deeply influenced by the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson or Elliott Erwitt since my youth, that I'm naturally inclined to see the world of 50mm in black and white. Regardless, this allows me to use my Leica M-A with color film stocks, and I'm happy with that configuration.
The following shots were taken on a wintery night on the streets of Downtown Montreal using one of my favorite 35mm black and white film stock: Kodak Tri-X 400 (rated at ISO 400). The negatives were developed and scanned by Kant Photo Studio in Montreal.
All these photographs were shot at f/1.4 and 1/30th of a second.
