DESCRIPTION
The idea for this project occurred to me one day in 2013 on my way to work. I live in Montreal and the easiest and fastest way to commute to work downtown is to take the Metro, which is our beloved subway system that was inaugurated during Expo 67. One thing I kept noticing while taking the subway during rush hour was that the people on board seemed like they were living in their own worlds. My observation was that many were stressed, distant, concentrated and also observant of other people. I wonder if it was always like this ever since our subway system was introduced back in the late 1960s. I wonder further if such is the atmosphere in other subway systems in the world. Maybe I should go out and find out for myself…
